Understanding Application Overview

The overview of an Application serves as the main area where a DevOps member performs all key day to day activities.

All Templates add Insights, an Environment in Dev stage based on a pre-configured three Stage Pipeline for delivery. These are shown on the overview and organized into the following three sections.

  1. Summary and Navigation
  2. Insights
  3. Environments
  4. Pipeline

Summary and Navigation

The top section of the application page displays basic details about the application. Underneath it, the Navigation bar shows all the attributes of an application that can be configured/viewed along with the count of those objects that are currently configured. For example, Tasks (11) means, there are 11 Tasks that have been created for this application.

Insights

Key metrics generated for the integrations configured by the application.

The metrics that come here are considered key insights that provide some key information about the application level parameters. Clicking on each of these cards takes to the area in dashboard to provide more information coming from the integrated source.

Environments

environments

The environments are listed with the stage they are running in, the application version they are running with. The list also provides the status of the environment, which could be one of the following:

1. Running - GREEN

2. Stopped with Errors - RED

3. Status unknown - GREY

4. Deployment/execution in progress - Blinking BLUE

More details on the environments are available here

Pipeline

The Template adds a Pipeline with three Stages for Main as shown here. Dev, Test and Release are the 3 default stages.

This view shows the latest build of all the tasks of category "build" across each of the Dev, Test and Release stages of the application.

To Initiate a pipeline, Select one of the "build" tasks from the Initiate pipeline dropdown. This will trigger a build task to initiate a new build for an application, which can be progressed through the dev, test and release stages of the application.

You can have more than one component marked here and you can get the latest status of each of these components across the stages of the application.

Note: For the community edition, addition and deletion of stages are not possible.
